3219 WINE TASTING CLASS: ITALY
Viva Italia! We'll taste wines from some of the major regions of Italy and develop our understanding of this complex (and especially tasty) country. From the snow capped mountains of Alto-Adige to the volcanic soils of Sicily, we'll talk about the history of winemaking in Italy, some of the most well known grapes, how to pair Italian wine with food (it's not just for pasta), and find a bottle you love at any price. If you're a wine lover or are just beginning your wine journey this class has something to offer.
Topics include: classical varieties of Italian wine grapes, the influence of soil and climate (terroir), vinification techniques that influence aroma and taste, temperatures and recommendations for proper storage, which wines are best suited to which foods and occasions and how to read a wine label. Here's your opportunity to develop your palate and appreciation for Italian wines. Extra! Each session your instructor brings a bonus wine that has a unique process to taste & discuss.
